Local Service

PB & J Marathon

PB & J Marathon will take place on Tuesday, May 27th from 10 am – 2 pm. Students will gather on Main Street (outside of TUC) to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. All student groups are invited to have a table at this event and compete to make the most sandwiches possible. The winning team will receive a prize. All sandwiches will then be taken to local food shelters such as Our Daily Bread and the Drop Inn Center. This event promotes a campus effort to relieve hunger in Cincinnati and to alert people that the hunger problem is much closer than it appears to be. Everyone can fight hunger, even if it is only for 30 seconds to make a sandwich. This event will show how little it takes to help someone less fortunate.

St. Francis Soup Kitchen

St. Francis Seraph Soup Kitchen has been feeding the hungry in Over-the-Rhine since 1980. The Soup Kitchen serves more than 200 dinners each Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon year round. The soup kitchen serves any and all who come to our door. Most folks do not like to depend on free meals. But the fact is, there are many men, women and children in our neighborhood who would go hungry if we were not here to help. Thanks to the generosity of our kind benefactors, the St. Francis Soup Kitchen is 100% funded by gifts-in-kind, cash, and volunteer contributions. We receive food items from food distributors, restaurants, grocery stores and individuals. Thoughtful donors provide the dollars required to rounded menus. Our dedicated volunteer force provides many hours of hands-on on labor that keep the soup kitchen functioning. The Soup Kitchen serves guests from 4:30 - 5:15 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. SBC serves dinner here every Friday. Meet in he CCM circle at 3:45 pm. Back at school by 6 pm.

Little Sisters of the Poor

The Little Sisters of the Poor have numerous volunteer opportunities at their home for the elderly in Clifton. We will be playing board games with the residents from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. Dates TBA.
