Issues
The UC College Democrats enjoy working on issues that are related to college students, affect college life, and any other issues that are important to individuals. While not every College Democrat agrees on every issue, we look past our differences and work for what we agree on.
Right now the UC Democrats work on many different issues, some of these include:
Equality:
This relates to creating equality among individuals. This can relate to race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, income, or opportunity.
Education:
As college students we are directly affected by the education budget of the state. We hope to encourage our elected officials to protect and improve upon the great college education system that we currently have.
Environment:
We live in a period of great concern about the environment. We fight for educating students about recycling and how to protect the environment. We also hope to change policy to help protect our falling environment.
Womens Rights:
The UC Democrats fight to protect womens rights in regards to equal pay, fair representation, and reproductive rights.
Union Rights:
As students at a public university, we recognize the importance of unions and union rights. The UC Democrats will stand up for all union rights, as we believe the are human rights.
