Instructions for
nomination:
For any student award, a graduate student currently
enrolled in a degree program at the University of Cincinnati may
self-nominate or be nominated by the nominee's advisor or designee. For
the group award, any faculty or the group's current officer or
group's advisor can nominate. That group must be in "active"
status with GSGA. Emphasis should be placed primarily on achievements
made while a graduate student at the University of Cincinnati, from 2008
onwards. The nominee or the nominator must submit the following in the
nomination packet:
1.) A cover letter providing the following details
:

Proof of
current quarter registration (if nominee is an individual)
·
The
Fall '11 quarter grade report (Official or Unofficial), showing the overall
GPA (if nominee is an individual)

and College in which organization resides (if nominee is an
organization)
·
Nominee's
mailing address
·
Nominee's
email address
·
Award
for which the Student/Organization is nominated (including category, in
the case of the Graduate Student Award for Exemplary Scholarship)
·
Nominator's
name
·
Nominator's
email address
·
Nominator's
phone number
2.) Narrative (to be composed by the nominator, or
nominee, if self nominated) explaining the ways in which the nominee exemplifies
the characteristics of the award category for which she/he or the group
is nominated.
3.) Two additional letters of recommendation
composed by people other than the nominator/nominee are also required.
These letters of support highlighting the student's (or group's)
achievements may come from students, faculty, and administrators from
any level within UC. Letters of support should address the nominee's
relationship with the author, the impact that the group or graduate
student's action has had on the author or that the author has
first-hand knowledge of, and any other information that author believes
is pertinent. These letters should detail how the graduate student or
group has demonstrated the qualities of the category for which she/he
is nominated during the course of her/his graduate studies while at the
University.
4.) A current CV of the nominee is also required.
In case of a group, a list of activities with descriptions and impact.
All nominations packets should be
submitted as a SINGLE PDF document, and emailed to president.ucgsga
(at) gmail.com. (Please note that you cannot
copy & paste that email.) The winners of the awards are chosen by independent and
representative judging panels. All applicants/nominators must agree to
abide by the rules and regulations that the GACC deems appropriate. Past
winners of awards are ineligible to nominate themselves or be nominated
for an award in the same category as their win. Winners will be decided
in about two weeks from the submission deadline and personally
notified.
All nomination materials must be received by March 9th,
2012, at 5pm.
When we receive your
email, we will send you a confirmation. If you do not receive a
confirmation, please contact us. Late or incomplete applications will
not be considered.
