Thomas E. Woods is an attorney by profession with a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. He received his B.A. and M.A. from Notre Dame in political science. Prior to his present 25 year career in private practice, he was the first Chairman and Executive Director of the Michigan Crime Victims Compensation Board, served as General Counsel of the Michigan Senate and taught political science for several years at Eastern Michigan University, and a year at the National University of Ireland, University College Dublin. He is a Certified Local Hearing Officer in special education for the Department of Education, a Certified Mediator in various Michigan Courts and has a general law practice. Mr. Woods currently serves as Acting Executive Director of the American Alcohol and Drug Information Foundation, the publisher of JADE, and its sister organization, the Michigan Council on Alcohol Problems.
