Workshop Purpose

In response to a growing demand for continuing education in the field of geographic information science (GIS), the UC's Joint Center for Geographic Information Systems and Spatial Analysis (JC-GISSA) is pleased to offer a series of workshops to meet the needs of managers and technicians in this rapidly expanding field.

Intended Audience

The Introduction to ArcView GIS workshop is intended for both GIS technicians and non-technical GIS "consumers," i.e. end users and executives. The Introduction to Avenue workshop provides the skills and knowledge for using Avenue to customize graphical userinterface (GUI) to ArcView GIS. It also provides access to advanced spatial analytical functions that are not available through the default ArcView GUI. The Joint Center for GIS is an ESRI Authorized Arcview Learning Center, and all instructors are authorized by ESRI.
