![]() Qualifications Members of the Institute are experts in such fields as environmental analysis, exposure assessment, human health risk assessment, risk communication and risk management. Completed projects range from the basic to the innovative. One example of work conducted by members of the Institute is development of industry standard methods for the sampling and analysis of lead in residences. Researchers at the Institute have worked with various private industries, the Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency, the National Institute of Health and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Institute members are adept at presenting results and recommendations to clients and stake holders. The Institute has at its disposal extensive laboratory facilities and analytical capabilities for measuring and analyzing a broad array of environmental contaminants. Laboratories are equipped to handle toxic and radioactive materials and have extensive QA programs in place. A variety of field instruments are also available to support site characterization and assessment.
