University Honors Program

Requirements

Please note the two separate sets of requirements listed below. Be sure to read the requirements that apply to you (determined by the quarter in which you were admitted to the University Honors Program).

For students admitted to the University Honors Program in or after 07A

The University Honors Program was redesigned in 2007 to better meet the needs of students. As a result, the following new graduation requirements have been established for students admitted in or after 07A:

Distinguished University Honors Scholar

Same requirements as University Honors Scholar (directly below) and with a cumulative University GPA of 3.75 or above

University Honors Scholar

Students are required to have a cumulative University GPA of 3.4 or above and to complete the following requirements:

For students admitted to the Honors Scholars Program between 99A and 07U

Students may graduate from the University Honors Program with one of the following three designations:

Distinguished Honors Scholar

  • Same as Honors Scholar (below) but with a cumulative University GPA of 3.75 or above.

Honors Scholar

  • Complete 36 hours of Honors course work
  • Complete 9 hours of  honors seminar courses, these 9 hours are included in the total of 36 above
  • Cumulative University GPA of 3.2 or above

Lower Division Honors

  • Complete 24 hours of Honors course work
  • Cumulative University GPA of 3.2 or above
