University Honors Program

Honors Ambassadors

University Honors Ambassadors are a select group of University Honors students who represent the program on campus and in the community. Ambassadors provide information and advice on the University Honors Program as well as on life at the University of Cincinnati.  In addition to representing University Honors, ambassadors may also plan, coordinate, and/or co-facilitate programs for the University Honors Program.  These students would lead group discussions and activities, and represent the student perspective within the University Honors Program. These students are responsible for helping peers to link areas of personal, academic and professional development through engagement in the University Honors experiential learning curriculum.   

 

Potential roles/responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): 

  • Participating in University Honors specific admissions activities (e.g., University Honors open house events during the Cincinnatus competition, meet with prospective students who visit campus, etc.)
  • Serving as a peer advisor, providing a student perspective for current and prospective students
  • Presenting in the Gateway to University Honors class
  • Serving on University Honors committees
  • Sharing of the University Honors e-portfolio
  • Other opportunities as they arise.

 

Qualifications for being a University Honors Ambassador include:

  • Engagement with the University Honors Program
  • Engagement in one or more of the University Honors thematic areas
  • Strong understanding of the University Honors Program framework
  • Desire to help and lead other University Honors students
  • Well developed communication skills
  • Interest in working with a diverse team of people
  • History of strong academic performance
