About me…

One of my passions is helping students and I strive to always provide accurate and highly-personalized advising!  I often joke that, as an advisor, I get to relive college without homework or tuition fees (lucky me!).  I am grateful that many students include me in shaping their university experiences and allow me to share in the victory of overcoming challenges as well as the celebration of their successes.  My background includes work in career exploration, teaching, first-year and transfer orientation, and a heavy emphasis on academic advising.  I transitioned to the University Honors Program University from my role as an advisor in the McMicken College of Arts & Sciences.  Before that, I worked at University of Maryland, College Park, where I advised engineering students.

Though I was raised in a military family and have lived all over the United States, my family settled in Dayton, Ohio, in 2000.  In 2009, I wed my high school sweetheart and partner in life, Justin Kennard.  We currently reside in Liberty Township, Ohio.  I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, reading, traveling, playing card and board games, cooking, watching television, exercising, and being outside.

I strongly support students' holistic development (academic and personal) and am a trained Safe Zone Ally.  In the University Honors Program, I advise students in the College of Allied Health Sciences, the College of Nursing, the College of Pharmacy and STEMM majors within the McMicken College of Arts & Sciences.  Feel free to make an appointment so we can get to know one another better!

  • My wacky family whom I love like mad
