University Honors Program

FAQs - UHP Admissions

Do I have to apply to be in the University Honors Program?

First time freshman students who are entering the University in fall semester do not need to submit a separate application to the University Honors Program. All incoming freshman students who have been admitted to a baccalaureate college will be considered for admission to the University Honors Program.

Current UC students who would like to transition into the University Honors Program must complete an application. This application is available in late-fall each year.

Students transferring to UC from another college or university must complete an application. This application is available throughout the year.

If I'm not accepted as an incoming freshman student, can I apply to University Honors after I begin at UC?

Yes. You can apply to transition into the University Honors Program. We know that there are many outstanding, high achieving undergraduate students at UC who are not admitted as incoming freshmen. We encourage interested students to apply through our transition process. Please keep in mind that the transition process is also very competitive. Please feel free to contact us with questions about that process.

Who do I contact with questions about admission to the University Honors Program?

How can I learn about the UC College of Medicine's Connections Dual Admission Program?

The University Honors Program works closely with the UC College of Medicine's Connections Program, a dual admissions BS/MD program.  Students who are admitted to Connections are also admitted to the University Honors Program.
