What is Long Term Care?
- Long-term care is personal care or supervision needed by persons of all ages for an extended period of time
- It may be needed due to an accident or illness, or the effects of aging
- Some conditions that may require long-term care include head injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, stroke, heart disease, and Alzheimer's disease.
Long Term Care services may include help with activities of daily living, home health care, respite care, hospice care, adult day care, nursing home care and assisted living care.
More details are coming soon... John Hancock has been chosen as the university's group long-term care provider. Eligible employees will receive information at their homes regarding John Hancock's group long term care plan. The enrollment period begins September 28, 2009 and ends October 30, 2009. Eligible, actively-at-work employees who enroll by the deadline will be accepted for coverage without having to provide proof of good health. Subject to proof of good health, long term care coverage is also available to spouses, domestic partners, parents, parents-in-law and adult children.
Long Term Care employee meeting schedule (click "meeting" for schedule) and webinars will be held during the month of October on all campuses.

Long Term Care Insurance Options Long Term Care insurance is sold either through groups (private employer, association membership, continuing care retirement communities) or as an individual policy.
