Spring is a great time to consider beginning (or building upon) an exercise program. Our Get Moving UC challenge is a great reason to be motivated and interact with others on campus who have similar goals.
Movement Made Simple
Movement does not always equal exercise. Get Moving is all about adding in a bit more movement throughout your day - which can include stretching, cardiovascular or strength training and even better breathing. Here are some helpful hints and tips to get you going:
Walk It Wednesdays
Did you know you can join the nationally certified personal trainers of Campus Recreation for Walk It Wednesdays - FREE?
Walk It Wednesdays are open to everyone and will run April 6 - November 16, 2016. NO registration required!
The website shares the details, including the monthly giveaway - just for showing up and taking a moderately paced walk with the Rec staff!
Get Motivated with Rec Rewards
If you're looking for a way to get active on campus, consider joining Rec Rewards, an amazing opportunity available to benefits eligible faculty and staff that rewards you for being consistent!
Membership never made more sense - just $10/month so long as you participate 8x/month (twice a week). We can help you pay for it! If you work to earn the Bronze Level incentive with Be Well UC (120 points = $120) - your incentives (paid in January) can be used to cover the cost of your membership!

Looking for ways to learn about your health and earn incentives at the same time? Here's how! Visit the Incentive page to learn more about the incentive structure and what you earn with your points!

|Attend a Move Well Lunch & Learn||10 points||Participate in a Move Well Lunch & Learn on topics like setting up a fitness plan, creating SMART goals, starting a running program and more!|
|Participate in the 4-week Physical Activity Challenge on the Asset Health Portal||40 points||Earn 10 points for each week that you participate in our Physical Activity Challenge, which will help you track how many minutes of movement you are doing in the categories of strength, stretching and cardio.
