Important: An employee must FIRST apply for retirement and be approved by his/her university sponsored retirement system. Please refer to Board Rule 30-28-01 for further clarification.

Employees who are planning to retire from the University of Cincinnati may refer to the Leaving University Employment Guide, which lists the things to do beginning six (6) months prior to the retirement date. Employees may also refer to the Retiree Benefits document for more information on benefits available to retirees.
If you are in the grandfathered TIAA/Fidelity/Vanguard, you and your spouse and unmarried dependent children may continue participation in medical and/or dental plans available to retirees as long as financial arrangements are made with HR at the time of retirement.
Retiree identification cards are available through Public Safety. Please allow five (5) business days after the date of retirement before requesting the retirement identification card.
