Eligibility

If you were active on the University of Cincinnati payroll as of January 1, 2007, you will be eligible to use The Work Number.

• Contact the Human Resources Department at 513-556-6381 for the following employment and income verifications:
  
  • If you were not active on the University of Cincinnati payroll as of January 1, 2007
    
  • All government agency requests for employment and/or income (e.g. Jobs and Family Services, etc.)
    
  • All General Counsel requests

Proof of Employment Instructions

Employees needing employment verification only, give the verifier the following information:

• Enter the University of Cincinnati Employer Code: 13731
  
• Enter the employee's Social Security Number

Proof of Employment and Income Instructions

Employees needing employment and income verification should instruct the requesting verifier to do the following:

• Enter the University of Cincinnati Employer Code: 13731
  
  • Enter the employee's Social Security Number 
  • If required, enter the Salary Key provided by the UC employee

If the verifier requires a Salary Key, the University of Cincinnati employee must create the Salary Key:

• Visit The Work Number at: www.theworknumber.com/employees or call 1-800-367-2884
  
  • Enter the University of Cincinnati Employer Code: 13731
    
  • Enter the employee's User ID (6+2 - same as ESS log-in) and PIN (mmddyyy of birth - no slashes)
    
  • Select Create a Salary Key (Write down the Salary Key) and give to the verifier

Social Service/Government Assistance Verification Instructions

Employees may bring social service agency forms requesting information to the Human Resources Department, 3rd floor, University Hall. Human Resources will send the form to The Work Number for completion. The Work Number will return the form to the social service agency or employee needing to provide an employment or income verification to the social service or governmental agency.

Employees can instruct the agency case worker to do the following:

• Register with The Work Number via the web or telephone (if not already registered)
  
  • All agencies must register to use the service.
    
  • If the case worker or agency needs additional assistance, they can contact The Work Number Client Service Center at 1-800-660-3399
    
• Access The Work Number to obtain verification. Access options for social service agencies include:

• Enter the social service agency's registered fax number or personal login ID
  
• Enter the following information when instructed:
  
  • The University of Cincinnati Employer Code: 13731
    
  • The employee's Social Security Number
