Rudy Slucker, College of Arts and Sciences:
Slucker was featured in
a story on CNN's "Market Coverage" for his
role as CEO of
Teardrop Golf. The company is fourth in putters sold
and fifth in
irons sold among all golf companies and saw its
revenues jump by 600
percent in 1998.
Robert Tkach, College of Arts and
Sciences:
Tkach was one of three scientists
who shared the New Jersey Research and Development
Council's Thomas
Alva Edison Patent Award for their invention of
optical fiber for
dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM). Tkach,
who has earned
15 patents, currently manages the Lightwave Networks
Research
Division at AT&T Labs.
