UC Hosts International Facilities Management Conference

UC will host the 2000 International Facilities Management Association-Academic Facilities Council Joint Conference May 7-9 at the Kingsgate Conference Center and get the opportunity to demonstrate the impact of the university's Campus Master Plan.

Around 140 campus planners and facilities management experts from Toronto to Texas and from Massachusetts to California are expected to attend the conference.

The agenda includes presentations by Provost Anthony Perzigian and vice presidents Dale McGirr (Finance), Fred Siff (UCit) Mitchel Livingston (Student Affairs and Human Resources). University Architect Ronald Kull will provide additional details on the Master Plan.

Visitors will not only hear about the financing and planning of the major construction projects on campus, they will be able to tour all of the signature architect buildings and be entertained with a "Taste of Cincinnati" at the College- Conservatory of Music Village.

Other UC-based presentations include:

  • "Ways to Save Millions with Energy Savings" by James Tucker, Facilities Management

  • "Campus Landscape and Signage" by Mauricio Luzuriaga and Leonard Thomas in the University Architect's office

  • "Classroom Evolution" by Michael Burrill in Campus Planning.

    The conference is being coordinated by Niraj Dangoria and Tom Cruse.
