Fine Arts Fund Plans Free Fun at UC

The Fine Arts Fund presents its annual valentine to the city with the Fine Arts Sampler Weekend, running this Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 12 and 13.

Local arts organizations, large and small, will be presenting more than 100 free events in some 40 locations. This year, three colleges at UC are participating. (Please note that the event at Raymond Walters is on Sunday, not on Saturday as listed in the sampler brochure mailed to UC employees).

Saturday, Feb. 12
Clermont College

10 a.m. - The Cincinnati Opera outreach ensemble presents The Toy Shop. A musical tale of the adventures of two toys that discover fantasies beyond the toy shop. Appropriate for children and adults of all ages, at Krueger Auditorium.

11 a.m. - Phyllis Frederick, storyteller, offers A Cozy Corner Appalachian Tales. Appropriate for children and adults of all ages, Room 603.

12:30 p.m. - Lonna Kingsbury, poet, presents Story Writing. Appropriate for children and adults of all ages, Room 403.

Saturday, Feb. 12
College-Conservatory of Music

2 p.m. - Kurt Weill, The Berlin Years. Musical theater cabaret performance, Room 3250, Mary Emery Hall.

3 p.m. - Kurt Weill, The New York Years. Musical theater cabaret performance, Room 3250, Mary Emery Hall.

Sunday, Feb. 13
Raymond Walters College

1 p.m. - Intuition Theatre, Squabbler's Paradise. This is a story about friendship and rivalry. For kids grades K-6, in RWC Theater.
