| East Campus Plans Graduation Ceremonies
Date: May 26, 2000 Archive: Campus News On Sunday, May 28, 2000, the College of Medicine graduation ceremony will be held at the Aronoff Center for the Arts at 1:00 p.m. The speaker will be Faith Fizgerald, MD, professor of medicine, director of internal medicine diagnosis and treatment, and assistant dean of student affairs, University of California-Davis. The annual Golden Apple Award will be presented to Israel Penn, MD, professor of surgery, and Clarence McLain, MD, professor emeritus, obstetrics and gynecology. The Silver Apple for Teaching Experience will be presented to Barbara Tobias, MD, associate professor of family medicine. The College of Allied Health Sciences will hold its graduation ceremony on Friday, June 9, 2000, at 7:30 p.m. in Kresge Auditorium. The main speaker is Sommer Settell, a graduating dietetics and nutrition student. Graduate students will be hooded during the ceremony. A reception will follow the ceremony in the plaza of the Medical Sciences Building (MSB) on Bethesda Avenue. The Honors, Pinning, and Hooding Cermony for the College of Nursing will take place on Friday, June 9, 2000 at 5:00 p.m. in the Shoemaker Center. The guest speaker will be M. Julia Hanser, president and chief executive officer of Mercy Health Partners. The College of Pharmacy will host a reception for distinguished alumni and preceptors on Friday, June 9, 2000, at 6:30 p.m. in the Cincinnati Medical Heritage Center, 121 Wherry Hall. The College's commencement will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2000 at 7:30 p.m. in Kresge Auditorium. The ceremony will be followed by a reception for graduates, family, and friends. |
