U.S. News & World Report
Laura Wexler of the College of Medicine got wide play for her
editorial in the New England Journal of Medicine
explaining the higher mortality among women (vs. men) who have heart
attacks at an early age. Wexler was quoted
or cited in U.S. News and World Report, the Chronicle of Higher
Education, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and by
the Associated Press and Reuters News Service. She was also
interviewed for a story that appeared on the
NBC Nightly News and for the NPR radio program "All Things
Considered."
People Magazine
Bill Kramer of fire science technology was quoted in a feature
about a new fire-retardant gel that a Florida
firefighter has developed.
The New York Times
Doug Haskell from the Center for Economic Education was quoted in
a story about how families making the
median income of $50,000 per year struggle to meet some material
needs. Geraldine Frazier, a member of the
staff in University College, was also cited, talking of her personal experience.
The story also appeared in the International Herald Tribune,
published in France.

the effectiveness of surveillance cameras as a

Udo Greinacher of architecture was featured in an article about
the trend of revitalizing houses in older suburban neighborhoods close to urban cores.

Karen Machleit of the College of Business Administration was
quoted in an article about the comfort level of
consumers shopping on the Internet.

Benjamin Britton, fine art, was featured in an article about a
Web site he developed that allows Internet surfers to relive, via virtual reality,
the first lunar landing.
