Press, USA Today, The Washington Post, New York's Daily News, The Columbus Dispatch and The Louisville Courier-Journal reported on the victory by UC graduate student
Heather French in the Miss America competition. French, who
appeared on ABC's Good Morning America, CBS'
David Letterman and Sunday Morning as well as on NBC news programming, also holds
the title of Miss Kentucky.

Mary Anne Pitman from the College of Education
was quoted in an article that analyzed the home-schooling trend
and its effect on students.

Russell Durst, English, was quoted in an article
about public schools offering Montessori education as an

James Lockey, environmental health, was quoted in
a story about a study he conducted for the U.S. Department of
Energy that found evidence of occupational illnesses for workers
exposed to poisons at the Oak Ridge nuclear facility.
