"One Stop" at the University of Cincinnati accelerates the college admissions process to allow would-be students to enter college this fall, even if they wait till the last minute.

Because the admissions process can take three to four weeks at most colleges and universities, someone who comes to a late-summer decision to attend college must often wait till the following winter to enter. However, thanks to UC's "One Stop," there is another option.

"One Stop," available Aug. 1-25, condenses the admissions process into one visit, allowing participants to decide on a major and determine financial aid availability all in time for the start of classes at UC on Wednesday, Sept. 20. According to Karen Ramos, associate director of admissions, "One Stop" works best when potential students come prepared with:

  • full documentation of previous academic record (SAT/ACT test scores, high school/college transcripts or general equivalency degree scores)

  • a 1999 tax return and completed financial aid form (forms are available through UC's literature request line at 513-556-2420)

  • a $30 application fee (check or money order only)
  • "One Stop" academic counseling is held in the Office of Admissions, One Edwards Center on UC's West Campus. Parking is available in the adjacent garage. Weekday hours for "One Stop" are 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Aug. 1-25. Special evening and weekend hours are available from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3; Wednesday, Aug. 9; Tuesday, Aug. 15; and Monday, Aug. 21; as well as 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19.
