Where can I buy a home to qualify for the Walk-to-Work Loan
program?
The neighborhoods include Corryville, Clifton,
Fairview, Clifton and University Heights, Mt. Auburn, Avondale,
and Walnut Hills.
Is there an income eligibility requirement?
There is no specific requirement, but typically,
the nonprofit agencies assist individuals earning $35,000 a year
or less and families earning $50,000 a year or less. The program
is specifically targeted to first-time homebuyers.
What kind of home can I buy?
There is no absolute limit on home prices or home
styles. It is up to employees to find the home that meets their
needs. However, if an employee has a good credit history and his
or her family's gross income is about $50,000, the employee could
qualify for a $90,000 to $100,000 home.
Can I buy a home near UC, then rent it to students?
Individuals and families receiving assistance must
live in the home they buy for at least 3 years. However, if the
building is a two-family home, they can rent the second
unit.
