| UC Architecture, Interior Design Programs Earn High Marks
Date: March 30, 2000 By: Mary Bridget Reilly Phone: (513) 556-1824 Archive: General News The year 2000 Almanac of Architecture and Design, a definitive reference source on all areas of design -- worldwide competitions, organizations, rankings and achievements including the best skylines and America's top design schools -- ranks the University of Cincinnati's interior design program as the nation's best and UC's architecture program as the third best in the U.S. The rankings were based upon surveys of professional architecture and interior design firms, posing the question, "From which schools have you had the best experience hiring employees?" UC was the number one school of choice for those in the interior design profession, followed by, among others, Cornell University, Pratt Institute and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. UC's architecture program tied for third with the University of Michigan while Cornell University and Harvard University earned the number one and two rankings respectively. Others following later on the list were Yale University, the Rhode Island School of Design, the University of Virignia, Columbia University, Princeton University and the University of Notre Dame.
