The event was aimed at female students in the 7th through 9th grades and allows them to get the heart of engineering by disassembling and pulling apart the mechanical and electronic components that make everything from toasters to computers work.

The young women received help from professional women engineers and students in UC's chapter of the Society of Women Engineers. They were also able to see other demonstrations of engineering in action.

The event used laboratory facilities in several areas of the College of Engineering. Alumna Alev Hall was the coordinator and long-time supporter of the event.
