Mission Statement

Our mission is to promote international academic experiences to help students become culturally competent in order to succeed in an ever-changing world, and to provide support for faculty to develop programs in keeping with the UC|21 guiding principle: Cultural Competence.

The culturally competent individual:

1. Respects and values a variety of cultures,
2. Understands that differences are normal and knows how to learn more about differences so as to understand and communicate better, and
3. Welcomes opportunities for cross-cultural interaction, communication.
