UC International Programs Study Abroad Leadership Workshop

This Faculty Study Abroad Leadership Workshop is for faculty leading a group of students abroad during the 2013-2014 Academic Year. We will cover a variety of subjects on how to prepare as an employee of UC traveling internationally with students and best practices while abroad. Topics will include leader roles and responsibilities, safety, risk prevention, liability and limitations, insurance for you and students, health issues and preparation, student conduct, pre-departure orientations, crisis management, etc. If you have attended a leadership workshop in 2013, you are not required to participate. All other faculty leaders are expected to attend in order to receive important updates and key information from UC International Programs and the International Travel Oversight Committee.

For faculty hoping to lead students abroad in future academic years, we will hold a “How to lead a Study Abroad: Where do I begin?” Workshop in October through CET&L.
