International internships are a great way to gain work experience in your field. Internships can last for a summer, quarter, semester or longer, and many offer academic credit. There are internship opportunities for most majors at UC in countries all around the world. Most students choose to intern in an English Speaking country, so England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa tend to be the most popular places to intern abroad, although there are opportunities elsewhere. Most international internships are unpaid, and will charge a fee that covers the work placement, orientation, housing, health insurance and sometimes other activities. If an internship offers academic credit, then you can use your UC financial aid and apply for the UC international grant. If you aren’t sure about receiving academic credit, or have additional questions, please contact us and we can help you.
