FAQ

Do I need to complete the Online Orientation?

We recommend that you take our online orientation so you fully understand your visa and can learn more about the University of Cincinnati prior to arrival.

When should I schedule my immigration check-in?

You should only schedule your check-in after you have received your visa and have made your flight arrangements.

For a full list of check-in dates, please visit our Check-In page. If you are an undergraduate or exchange student, the date you should check-in is indicated on the schedule. All other students and scholars may choose from the full list of check-in dates.

How do I schedule my check-in?

Go to iBearcatsGlobal and use the "Limited iStart Services" link. From there, you should click on "Admission and Orientation" to select "Registration for New International Student Check-In."

What happens if I don't go to check-in?

If you do not attend any of the check-in dates, UC International is required to cancel your student immigration status.

What do I need to bring to check-in?

You should bring your passport, your I-94 card, and your I-20/DS-2019.

What is the International Student Conference?

The International Student Conference is a one-day meeting where UC staff welcome you to the university. We provide you with valuable information about safety, academics in America, finding a job, and more. It's a great way to meet other international students and scholars and become a part of the Bearcat family.
