Composition Studies

Thank you for visiting the companion website to the print journal, Composition Studies, a peer-reviewed, biannual journal currently housed at the University of Cincinnati. This website hosts the journal’s archives, comprising full-text access to book reviews and our unique Course Design feature, and includes submission policies and subscription information.

The oldest independent periodical in the field, Composition Studies is an academic journal dedicated to the range of professional practices associated with rhetoric and composition: teaching college writing; theorizing rhetoric and composing; administering writing related programs; preparing the field's future teacher-scholars. We welcome work that doesn’t fit neatly elsewhere.

The journal currently has an acceptance rate of 10-12%. It is indexed in EBSCO, ProQuest, ERIC, Gale/Cengage, and JSTOR.

Please explore this site for further information about the journal, its staff, and its history in the field. And be sure to check out the contents of our current issue!
