BRIDGES Walk for a Just Community
The BRIDGES for a Just Community organization has ceased operation and no further walks are planned. The last walk occurred in 2012.
The BRIDGES Walk for a Just Community was an inspiring event promoting inclusion, equity and justice for all. This celebration was truly a display of the rich ethnic and cultural compilation of our region. All proceeds for the walk benefited the programs of BRIDGES for a Just Community.
BRIDGES for a Just Community was a human relations organization originally established in 1944 as the National Conference for Christians & Jews (NCCJ). Its purpose was to bring people together to achieve inclusion, equity and justice for all. BRIDGES provided programming designed to meet community challenges related to diversity, inclusion and social justice.
The walk was a 5K (3.1 mile) event. Families and those with special needs were able to participate. There was also a certified 5K Freedom Run.
After the walk there was entertainment including dancing, choirs, food, drink and the opportunity to learn more about organizations in the area doing diversity and inclusion work.
