Here we see this tireless human rights advocate and winner of
the 1992 Nobel Peace Prize in the natural, serene setting of
home and family in Guatemala. Throughout the interview
conducted by journalist Carlos Payan Velver, Menchú discusses
her fight both for women’s rights and for those of her own
Mayan Quiché people. It is a revealing discussion, one in
which Menchú shares her thoughts with other modern women about
the difficulties of balancing family with an all-consuming
career.
