About the Contest

What: #HottestCollegeinAmerica T-Shirt Design Contest

When: May 15, 2014 through June 30, 2014. 

Where: Designs may be submitted online here or dropped off at the UC Trademarks & Licensing Office located in University Hall, Suite 200.

Who: All students, faculty, staff, alumni, and fans that are in good standing with the University of Cincinnati are invited to participate. The winning t-shirt design will be produced by one of the University's official licensees and sold in the UC Bookstore this Fall. The winner will receive a $250 gift card to the UC Bookstore. All other designs will be shared with some of the University's licensees to be considered for production and distribution.

Why: The first annual official fan t-shirt.

How does it work?

Create your #HottestCollegeinAmerica t-shirt design following these guidelines:

  • JPG, PDF, AI, PSD, PNG files are accepted
  • The University's brand colors should be incorporated in the design.
  • The design should be created for use on either a white or red t-shirt.
  • Official UC athletics logos and marks are prohibited from use in the design (i.e. C-Paw, Bearcats mark, Bearcat eyes, etc.)
  • Use of the University's institutional logo is permitted.  Click here to view the institutional logo.

Designs will be judged based on quality and relevance. The judging panel will consist of UC faculty, staff, and students.

Contest Rules

The #HottestCollegeinAmerica t-shirt design contest is presented by the University of Cincinnati's offices of Governmental Relations & University Communications and Campus Services, and is open to all students, faculty, staff, alumni, and fans in good standing with the University.  A panel of judges representing alumni, athletics, student government, faculty, and communications will narrow down the submissions.  Then, the top submissions will be put to a public vote from July 7-18, 2014 where the winner will be selected.  The winning design will be produced and sold at the UC Bookstore in the fall of 2014.  All designs must be the original artwork of the contestant that incorporates the University's brand (i.e. colors, trademarks, or logos) into the design, that has never been published, and does not contain profanity, trademarks, logos, or copyrighted works of any other person or business.  Use of University of Cincinnati athletic marks such as the C-Paw, Bearcats mark, or Bearcat eyes are strictly prohibited.  All designs submitted become property of the University of Cincinnati.  Artists may display their own design(s) in a portfolio or personal collection, but may not sell or reproduce the design(s) for any other purpose once submitted to the #HottestCollegeinAmerica t-shirt design contest.  You can access the full version of the official rules here.
