The McNair Scholars program encourages students to participate in educational abroad programs and experiences during their academic career. To assist in providing rich opportunities for students the McNair Program works in collaboration with UC International Programs to offer the Haiti Spring Break Tours. The program is designed to expose students to the Northwest region of Haiti and work on potential projects such as: medical team, construction work, community development seminars, children and elderly programming and much, much more!
The McNair Scholars and faculty from various programs will participate in the spring break program based at the Northwest Haiti Christian Mission. In additional to their participation in the Africana Studies course on Haitian Culture and Society, scholars will have the opportunity to present at the UC Undergraduate Research Poster Session scheduled during Spring Quarter of each academic year. Below are links to connect to UC International for more information about programs, academic planning, pre departure information, health and safety and many other topics of interest.
In coordination with the UC International Programs Office, the McNair Scholars Program is committed to ensuring the safety and health of scholars as they study abroad. Please use the following resources as you prepare for this experience.
