PhD Readiness and Empowerment Program (PREP)
The program is designed to offer undergraduate students guidance and tools to assist in navigating the graduate school admission process. Also, the program supports and advocates for current graduate school students at the University of Cincinnati. Services provided:
- Graduate School Symposium – An opportunity for students to spend a day gathering information about the graduate school process from admissions to Graduate School admissions testing. The Symposium has a graduate school student panel to address issues that students may face during the process and as a graduate school students on college campuses.
- Workshops and Seminars – During the academic year workshop are presented on the following topics:
- Graduate School Admissions
- Writing the Statement of Purpose
- Recommendation Letters for Graduate Programs
- Graduate School Panel
- Graduate School Testing and Practice Testing
- Financing your Graduate School Education
- Marketing Yourself
- Graduate School Coaching – One-on-one academic coaching to assist students individually on the graduate school admission process beginning with selecting a program or school to apply, and all the necessary tools required to gain admissions.
- Graduate School Advocacy – One-on-one advocacy for students to receive support and encouragement while on the graduate school journey, opportunity to graduate school students to have group activities and interactions with other graduate students on the University of Cincinnati campus to build community.
