A streamlined admissions/financial aid service at the University of Cincinnati will help students to sign up for college in a matter of hours, rather than the weeks it traditionally takes for colleges to complete the enrollment process. The UC program, called One Stop, is open to anyone who hasn't yet applied to UC.
One Stop begins Wednesday, Aug. 1 and runs through Friday, Aug. 24. Prospective students go to one location, the Office of Admissions, located in One Edwards Center at the corner of Corry Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue. During "One Stop," advisers will be on hand to help them explore the various programs offered at UC, their financial aid options, as well as to confirm admission to UC during that single visit.
Nearly 600 students took advantage of the speedy enrollment service last year. UC's fall classes start Sept. 20. Potential students need to bring the following items to the admissions office to enroll through the One Stop program:
A copy of your final high school transcript or GED scores
Transcripts from colleges or universities that you formerly attended
A $30 application fee, payable by check or money order
A copy of the 2000 federal tax forms for student and parent, if you're applying for financial aid. To apply for federal student aid before your One Stop visit, call (513) 556-2420 and ask for an application.
One Stop hours run Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Park in the Corry Street garage next to the Office of Admissions. One Stop is also offering extended hours on the following dates:
Thursday, Aug. 2 5-7 p.m.
Wednesday, Aug. 8 5-7 p.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 14 5-7 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 18 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 20 5-7 p.m.
Potential students can call the One Stop hotline at (513) 556-UCUC (8282) for more details.
