The University of Cincinnati will celebrate Internet2 Day on Thursday, May 10 with a special conference from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kingsgate Conference Center.
The featured speakers include Ann Doyle, manager of the Internet2 (I-2) Arts and Humanities Initiatives. Doyle will discuss the advantages of I-2's increased bandwidth and demonstrate how I-2 participants have used that power in the performing arts.
Linda Roos, the OARnet manager for Internet2 in Ohio, will talk specifically about Ohio-based projects and collaborations. She will be followed by Gregory Monaco of the National Science Foundation who will explain the funding opportunities for faculty who want to use Internet2's capabilities.
Finally, there will be panel discussion and hands-on demonstrations by UC faculty and staff involved with I-2 projects here. UC was a founding member of the Internet 2 collaboration.
