The Scientist: Mentors of UC Biologist Receive 2009 Kyoto Prize


Ken Petren, an associate professor of biological sciences at UC, was interviewed by "The Scientist" about Peter and Rosemary Grant, emeritus professors at Princeton University, upon their winning the 2009 Kyoto Prize.

UC ingot   Peter and Rosemary Grant have won the 2009 Kyoto Prize in the category of Basic Sciences for their work on evolutionary adaptations in response to environmental flux.

"I can't think of any other scientists who deserve it more," said Ken Petren, a former post-doc of Peter Grant's and now at the University of Cincinnati, citing "their long-term commitment to unraveling some very complex problems" in evolutionary biology.
