UC Women Selected for Higher Education Leadership Program
Seven women from the University of Cincinnati are participating in a leadership program that was initiated by UC in 2003 as a collaborative program for women in higher education from institutions around the area.

Seven University of Cincinnati (UC) women have been selected to attend the 2009–2010 Women’s Institute for Leadership Development (WILD) Program. Developed by UC in 2003, the program is a collaborative effort of six area institutions — UC, Xavier, Miami, Northern Kentucky University, Mt. St. Joseph and Cincinnati State.

Twenty-one women applied this year; four faculty and three staff women were selected. They are as follows:
- Stacey Downing, director, Student Activities & Leadership Development
- Paula Breslin, academic director, First Year Experience (FYE), McMicken College of Arts & Sciences
- Kay Kinoshita, head, Department of Physics (Effective Sept.1st), McMicken College of Arts & Sciences
- Carney Sotto, clinical professor, director Undergrad.Studies in Communication Sciences & Disorders and Director of FYE, College of Allied Health Sciences
- Debra Wiley, assistant academic director, Academic Excellence & Support Services
- Wanda McCarthy, assistant professor, Department of Psychology, Clermont College
- Claude Lopez, associate professor, Department of Economics, McMicken College of Arts & Sciences
The program consists of seven sessions on various topics including career development, leadership and negotiation. Sessions are held at participating institutions once a month. The University of Cincinnati underwrites tuition for selected participants.
