UC ingot   Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got. Taking a break from all your worries sure would help a lot. Wouldn't you like to get away? Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came.

So said the “Cheers” lyrics by Gary Portnoy and Judy Hart Angelo. Well, you don’t have to travel to Boston for such a wonderful place — it exists right in the heart of the University of Cincinnati. It’s the Faculty Club in the Richard E. Lindner Center.

And now the Faculty Club is offering a three-week open membership period, October 1–21, for prospective members to try out the club. All faculty and staff who are interested in the benefits of club collegiality are invited to visit for lunch during the open membership period. You need not be accompanied by a member. For an especially warm welcome, prospective members might want to sit at the club’s Community Table. There’s always room for one more.

The Faculty Club menu includes a variety of sandwiches and salads, with a salad bar and a hot buffet bar, including gourmet soups made from scratch with specials that change daily. Prices range from $4 to 12 and major credit cards are accepted.

The club is open for lunch, Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Call 513-556-4154 for more information or reservations (not required).
