Lady Cougar Teammates Celebrate 100 Career Wins on Team

Seniors Allison David and Jordan Johnson have achieved something no other Lady Cougar has in the history of UC Clermont College athletics – they have hit the 100-win mark (and counting) on the team.

Both students have been on the team since they were freshman and have continued to play as they complete their four-year degrees – racking up more than 100 wins, three visits to the USCAA National Tournament and helping their team to finish 10 in the nation freshman year and 3rd in the nation the last two years.

Johnson is a forward from Clermont Northeastern majoring in special education and David is a guard from Winton Woods majoring in paralegal studies.

"There are insufficient words to express the respect and love we have for our seniors Allison and Jordan. They have endured the maturing process as players and individuals. They have set examples for all who are currently on the team to what it takes to not only to be successful on the floor but in life. Their great character traits such as commitment, persistence, determination, friendship, and scholarship will be the hallmark of all who remember them from this team in future years. This is their Lady Cougar legacy," said Head Coach Mike Matthews.

"I feel privileged and blessed to be a part of this team. We have great coaches and the great diversity of talented players that have bonded to get us to this point,” said David.

"It took a lot of hard work...team work. Getting the new younger players each year to understand how hard to work and what it takes to win at this level was the challenge. Then seeing everyone bond together to win has been awesome. It's great being the start of a Lady Cougar tradition," said Johnson.

The Lady Cougar's final home match is February 22 at 7 p.m. vs. Kentucky Christian. For more information about the team visit:
