UC Clermont Dedicates LED Sign and Lights Up Campus through a Donation from the Sporty's Foundation
Through a gift from the Sportys Foundation UC Clermont College unveiled a new digital LED sign today that will dynamically enhance the way the college is able to communicate events and accomplishments to students, employees and campus visitors.
The sign was used for the first time during a year-end cookout and celebration honoring the donors Hal and Sandy Shevers.
We want to take this time to celebrate and thank the Sportys Foundation for their support to UC Clermont College. We are very grateful for their contribution of this LED Sign. Their generosity provides the college with a strategic communications tool that will go a long way in helping us share our story and telling people what is happening on campus each day, said Dean Gregory Sojka. Adding, This is a significant gift to the Proudly Cincinnati Campaign, transforming the campus in a bold new way.
We are hopeful, that the sign made possible by Sporty's, will help bring the entire campus and college community together as one and help foster a sense of community, said Hal Shevers, Founder and Chairman of Sportys.
Sporty's is located at the Clermont County airport and is the world's largest pilot shop, offering high quality aviation products and supplies for more than 50 years. The Sportys Foundation mission is to ensure a healthy, quality aviation workforce for the next generation in the Cincinnati aviation community. This means working with students to create opportunities to learn about more professional aviation careers, expose them to aviation environments and provide opportunities to gain additional flight experience.
I think it will make students more aware of the events going on because it will be the first thing they see when they come on to campus. Its big, its huge and we will know if there is a game being played, a lecture being given or a relaxed fun event happening, said Penny Rhoads, a UC Clermont College student majoring in computer system support.
