2012 Design Rankings: Four UC Programs in Nation s Top Tier
A national survey of employers ranks University of Cincinnati design programs among the best in the nation.
The annual survey by DesignIntelligence polls employers who have direct experience in hiring recent design graduates and asks a simple question: In your firms hiring experience in the past five years, which schools are best preparing students for success in the profession?
UCs College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) is for the 13th year straight once again recognized for its programs in industrial design, interior design and architecture. The 2012 DAAP rankings are
- No. 1 in the nation: UCs undergraduate industrial design program. (Tied with Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Calif.)
- No. 2 in the nation: UCs graduate industrial design program. (Tied with Art Center College of Design and the Rochester Institute of Technology.)
- No. 3 in the nation: UCs undergraduate interior design program. (Tied with four other programs, including Pratt Institute in New York City.)
- No. 10 in the nation: UCs graduate architecture program.
In addition to surveying employers, DesignIntelligence also separately surveys academic leaders, including deans and department heads in design-oriented schools to provide input.
- Peer programs most admired UCs industrial design program for its cooperative education opportunities, relations with industry and practical training.

Finally, DesignIntelligence also named the 25 most-admired educators of 2012. Among those placed on this short list is
