Hoxworth Blood Center Celebrates 75 Years of Saving Lives


The community is invited to the center's official birthday party on Fountain Square at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 11. There will be award presentations, and free cookies and beverages.

UC ingot   Hoxworth Blood Center at the University of Cincinnati will be celebrating 75 years of saving lives, Wednesday, Dec. 11, on Fountain Square. Hoxworth is inviting all donors, recipients and friends to join its 75th birthday celebration!

Festivities begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by a formal event at noon in which awards will be presented to the University of Cincinnati (President Santa J. Ono accepting), the Cincinnati Reds (Phil Castellini accepting), the Cincinnati Bengals (Jeff Berding accepting) and Liz Bonis of WKRC Local 12. Complimentary cookies, hot chocolate and coffee will be provided.

The event will kick off a year of celebration and education as Hoxworth looks back on its rich 75-year history, while continuing to lead advancement in transfusion medicine and saving lives.
