CCM Drama Holds Annual Senior Showcase and Dolly Awards This Week
CCM Drama's graduating seniors will showcase the depth and breadth of their acting skills during two free performances on March 14. The 12th annual Dolly Awards Ceremony will follow the 7 p.m. performance and will include the presentation of the 2014 Julia Winter Cohen Career Excellence Award to accomplished alumna Torie Wiggins.

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music’s (CCM) Department of Drama presents its annual Senior Showcase at 2 and 7 p.m. on Friday, March 14, in UC’s Patricia Corbett Theater. The 12th annual DOLLY Awards Ceremony follows the 7 p.m. showcase performance. These events are free and open to the public. Reservations are not required.
The showcase performance will consist of a variety of scenes by graduating seniors in CCM’s Drama program, demonstrating the depth and breadth of the acting skills they have honed during their undergraduate training at CCM. The Senior Showcase will be the first presentation of a performance that the students will be taking on the road to exhibit their talent in New York and Los Angeles in April. The Annual CCM Drama DOLLY Awards recognize outstanding achievement and performance by students in the Department of Drama. Awards are given for Excellence in Performance and Excellence in Ensemble Performance from the 2013-14 CCM Drama season, which included the productions Execution of Justice
, The Crucible
The highlight of the ceremony will be the presentation of the 2014 Julia Winter Cohen Career Excellence Award to a graduate of CCM Drama. This year’s honoree is Torie Wiggins
, CCM Drama class of 2002. In addition to appearing on All My Children
and the feature film Love Me Through It
, Wiggins has created three one-woman shows, Everywhere You Look
, Everywhere Else You Look
and Torie on Ice;
and co-adapted and performed another one-woman show, Your Negro Tour Guide
. She was a seasonal resident artist with the Know Theatre of Cincinnati. Wiggins also appeared in To Kill a Mockingbird
with Cincinnati Shakespeare Company and performed the title role in Black Pearl Sings!
at Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati. She was nominated for LCT awards for both. Wiggins can be seen in a leading role in the Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati’s upcoming production of “The Mountaintop
