UC Business Students, and Sisters, Receive International Scholarships
Assietou and Nene Ly, sisters and undergraduate students in the University of Cincinnati's Carl H. Lindner College of Business, were each awarded a $5,000 Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to apply toward their study abroad exchange to the Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium.
As two of only 800 undergraduate students to
earn this scholarship across the nation, the Ly sisters, both Business Fellows, are honored to
have received this prestigious award and describe it as "proof that
perseverance and effort will always benefit you on your path to
success."
The aim of the Gilman scholarship is to diversify the students who study abroad and the countries and regions to which they travel. Named after retired congressman Benjamin Gilman of the House of Representatives, the scholarship strives to better position students for leadership roles in politics and the private sector by giving them the opportunity to better understand other cultures, languages and economies.
Both Assietou and Nene, BBA international business, will travel to Belgium in the fall.
