All Smiles as All Degree Levels Conferred at UC Summer Commencement
Associate, bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree recipients shared the glory together at the University of Cincinnati's Summer Commencement ceremony for the first time in 35 years.
The class of August 2014, which earned more than 2,000 degrees, was celebrated at the Aug. 9 ceremony at Fifth Third Arena. It was the first Summer Commencement since 1979 to include associate, bachelor's, master's and doctoral graduates accepting their degrees at the same ceremony.
In UC President Santa J. Onos remarks, he suggested that these students were graduating with an education of the mind and of the heart. He asked them to search within themselves for the courage to take action against injustice. And he implored the entire audience to choose to be instruments for goodness in the world.
