UC Vice Provost Takes Fulbright Tour to Build New Partnerships Abroad
From the monuments of Paris to the home of the Gutenberg press in Germany, University of Cincinnati Vice Provost Raj Mehta met with European university and business leaders as part of a Fulbright delegation this month.
Mehta joined with one group of U.S. higher-education administrators in travels to Lyon, Grenoble and Paris, France. Another group of Fulbright grantees visited higher education institutions in Germany.
At the end of the two-week program, the complete delegation compared notes and shared ideas in Mainz, Germany.
This Fulbright delegation focused on learning about restructuring efforts in European universities, Mehta said. Seeing what educators abroad are doing helps inform my work at UC and also see new opportunities for international partnerships.
Mehta joined administrators from a wide range of American universities, including the University of Colorado, Boulder; the University of California, Irvine; the Georgia Institute of Technology; and the University of South Florida, among others.
Im so pleased that Raj Mehta was awarded a Fulbright that helps keep UC at the leading edge of international education, said Provost Beverly Davenport. I look forward to hearing about what he learned and how he can continue to bring important global lessons and opportunities home to UC.
