RevolutionUC Hackathon Returns Nov. 14-16
is a college
, hosted every semester at the University of Cincinnati by the University of Cincinnati Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) student chapter and the
College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS)
. This semesters RevolutionUC will be held in the
UC CEAS Learning Center
from

A hackathon brings together people who are excited about programming for a weekend, and they collaborate to build innovative digital projects. Fueled by a continuous supply of caffeine and food, entrepreneurs, designers and developers work in teams over a 24-hour period to create hacks and apps for Web or mobile platforms. At RevolutionUC, these hack creators are students. Projects will be judged based on creativity, technical difficulty, polish and usefulness.
Hackathons have taken the country by storm as of late, dawning an event niche that gives programmers the rare opportunity to meet for collaborative computer programming. As a testament to their ever-growing popularity, two of the largest student hackathons,
and
, brought together over 1,000 hack-generating individuals from universities worldwide.
And students arent the only ones who are displaying a vast interest in these events numerous well-known companies such as
,
and
attend hackathons in search of future employees. Therefore, these events are increasingly being considered as a Career Fair 2.0, allowing students the chance to showcase their innovative handiwork to potential employers.
RevolutionUC organized by CEAS computer science student
