University of Cincinnati Names Alex Coorey to Head Alumni Advocacy Program
Effective Jan. 5, 2015, University of Cincinnati alumnus Alex Coorey will serve as UCs new director of alumni advocacy.
In that role, he will coordinate efforts by UC alumni who wish to be engaged in educating members of the Ohio General Assembly about the University of Cincinnatis position on higher education issues. This role will build and foster relationships with legislators within their respective legislative districts while acting as a direct liaison for UC alumni.
For the past four years, Coorey has worked with Ohio House Speaker William G. Batchelder. Most recently, he served as director of the Speakers Office, with responsibilities for day-to-day operations, appointments and scheduling responsibilities for the office.
Alex will bring energy and creativity in strengthening UCs advocacy efforts by bringing in the voices of our strongest advocates our alumni, said Vice President for Government Relations and University Communications Greg Vehr.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Coorey graduated from Anderson High School in Anderson Township, followed by studies in UCs Carl H. Lindner College of Business, where he graduated in 2009. Both his mother and father are also UC graduates.

Coorey will continue his current duties in the Speakers office until his start date with the university on Monday, Jan. 5.
