International Congress for School Effectiveness in Cincinnati January 3-6, 2015
More than 400 researchers, school and district leaders, teachers, local and national policy makers and politicians, NGO personnel, and consultants from 34 countries around the world will meet in Cincinnati from Jan. 3-6, 2015, to learn and share research about effective schools and school improvement programs worldwide.
The International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement (ICSEI) was formed to provide a forum to share ideas, to promote research, and to encourage practices that will enhance the quality and equity of education for all students. The goal of ICSEI is for researchers, policy people and practitioners to learn from each other. They accomplish this through shared researcher, dialogue and development opportunities and rigorous research focused on best practices. ICSEI was founded in January 1988, with the first ICSEI congress held in London. Subsequent annual conferences have been held at sites on five continents. The 2015 ICSEI congress in Cincinnati is the 28th offering. Over the years, the ICSEI conferences have grown in membership and diversity. In total, people from more than 70 countries have attended ICSEI conferences.
The planning for ICSEI 2015 was started more than three years ago under the leadership of Conference Co-Chairs Dr. Samuel Stringfield (University of Cincinnati College of Education, Criminal Justice and Human Services) and Dr. Tom Shelton (Fayette County Kentucky Public Schools).
ICSEI 2015 is expected to be a landmark conference for the return of principled and evidence-based educational reform. The keynotes for ICSEI 2015 include:
- Andreas Schleicher, Director for Education and Skills, and Special Advisor on Education Policy to the Secretary-General at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris
